Whitnall manager savages Carlton
The manager of Lance Whitnall has lashed out at Carlton after the axing of the Carlton captain.
Whitnall has been told he is no longer required at the Blues, although that hasn’t been made official, despite the news commonly known across the football world.
“The word ’siv’ applies pretty well when at comes to leaks at Carlton. They are the kings. They’ve dominated for a while. Nothing’s got any better with the new board,” said Whitnall’s manager Ricky Nixon.
Whitnall has battled a knee injury through the season, playing just 15 games. The veteran had surgery in the off-season.
“What we’ve said is we think that his capacity to play is limited because of his knee,” said Blues CEO Greg Swann.
“In this day and age you have to be a hundred per cent to be able to do everything or otherwise you just get left behind.”
The Nixon onslught continued.
“The biggest thing that’s really irking me and a lot of Carlton supporters is the disrespect that’s been shown to Lance Whitnall, as captain of the Carlton football club,” Nixon fumed.
“They’re pathetic.”
The axing is likely to end the 11-year career of Whitnall, who is holidaying on the Gold Coast. It is unknown whether he is interested in looking for a new club via the draft.
