What they said: Cowboys and Warriors
Here are snippets of the post match press conference
Cowboys captain Johnathan Thurston:
“We’ve got some level headed blokes, senior blokes, in the team that keep everyone composed.12-6 down, we could have panicked, (but) we stayed composed and fought our way back.”
Cowboys coach Graham Murray:
“Today’s performance was one of the best the Cowboys have ever put up. I think everyone in North Queensland should be very, very proud.”
“It’s an exceptional group of blokes. They keep aiming up. They certainly trust each and play a good brand of football, on the back of a good spirit.”
Warriors captain Steve Price:
“I can’t remember touching the ball in the last twenty minutes.”
“You don’t get beaten by 40 if you play well, do you?”
Warriors coach Ivan Cleary:
“I thought the biggest thing was probably the try they scored on half time. We finally started to complete some sets, the game was in the balance. They struck a telling blow.”
“We left out worst till last, unfortunately. Certainly played our part in the Cowboys day, that’s for sure.”
