Warriors win in a slog

It was dark, cold and wet at Mt. Smart Stadium, yet somehow the conditions were better than the standard of football. The Warriors picked up yet another home win with a 14-6 victory over Canberra.

The Warriors opened the scoring with a penalty goal in the 20th minute, with Brent Tate scoring in the set following the kick off. The try was orchestrated by a Michael Witt chip and chase.

Canberra reduced the margin after half time when Lincoln Withers crashed over in the 52nd minute, however the Warriors regained their buffer zone when Ryan Shortland pounced on a Nathan Fien kick.

The Warriors move to 4-4, with all victories coming at home.
