Wallabies farewelled at Town Hall

A crowd of over a thousand have turned out at Sydney’s Town Hall, where the Wallabies were farewelled ahead of next months rugby world cup.

Prime Minister John Howard and State premier Morris Iemma were in attendance, with Howard pointing to Australia’s record at previous world cups as evidence that the Wallabies always overachieve at rugby’s showpiece event.

The squad departs for London tomorrow afternoon, before flying to Portugal for another pre-tournament camp.
