Voss, Black and Gehrig charged with assault

A brawl in September 2006 has resulted in four current and former Brisbane Lions and St.Kilda AFL players being charged.

Michael Voss, former Brisbane Lions captain and now commentator for Channel 10, was charged with unlawful assault.

Current lions captain Simon Black was charged with recklessly causing injury, and assault by kicking. St.Kilda full forward Fraser Gehrig, like Voss, was charged with unlawful assault. Former Lions and Saints player Steven Lawrence faces two charges of unlawful assault, as well as intentionally causing injury and another charge of recklessly causing injury.

The alleged incident occurred at the Prince of Wales Hotel in St.Kilda. Two others were charged.
