Two charged over drug leak

Two people have been charged in relation to the theft of highly confidential medical documents.
A 36 year old man and a 31 year old woman, both from Ivanhoe West, will face Heidelberg magistrates court on October 31. Neither are employees of Channel Seven, which aired details of the documents, implicating three players from a Melbourne based club.
The incident has threatened to derail the AFL’s illicit drugs code, which depends on the cooperation of players
AFL Players Association president Brendan Gale was ropable.
“The AFLPA clearly doesn’t think its right. We think it’s unacceptable for our players. We think it’s unacceptable to the community.
“The community should be absolutely horrified by the conduct of Channel Seven.”
Collingwood captain Nathan Buckley alluded to the possibility of the players immediately withdrawing from the code, a sentiment backed up by St.Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt
“We were told everything would be kept confidential and it would be an educational process if you were found guilty, and not a case of naming and shaming players. If that trust is broken, I think AFL players would have every right it feel betrayed,” Riewoldt told Fox Sports.
Despite the drama, Gale defended the policy.
“I stand by policy. The objectives are sound.”
