Tiger three clear
The scoring remains red hot at East Lake, with Tiger not missing the party at the Tour Championship, firing a six under 64 to sit at -19, three clear after three rounds.
Tiger saw Mark Calcavecchia draw level midway through the back nine, with Woods promptly birding 14, 15 and 16.
Tiger’s 191 is his lowest ever 54 hole total.
“I can’t remember too many golf courses that have been easier than this one,” Woods said.
Calcavecchia was -8 through the first 15 holes, before dropping a shot over the finishing holes. His 63 sees the 47 year old paired with Tiger tomorrow.
“He’ll probably keep me relaxed to some degree a little bit. But it’s a round of golf with Tiger Woods. It’s where you want to be.
“It’s a good spot to be in.”
The round of the day belonged to Zach Johnson. The Masters champion had his sights set on 59, needing a birdie on the par 3 18th. The magical figure disappeared when the tee shot was left in the bunker. Johnson’s stunning 60 elevating him from 19th to fourth.
Geoff Ogilvy is now the leading Australian, his 62 catapulting him to -10, two shots better than Adam Scott.
Aaron Baddeley and Robert Allenby are tied for 22nd, at -2.
