Rampaging Tait running through Bulls

Shaun Tait has staked his claim for a spot in the Boxing Day test, with another superb spell of bowling as South Australia remains on track to rout Queensland at the Gabba.

The Bulls are a staggering 6 for 34 in their 2nd innings on day three, a deficit of 24, with Tait carrying the figures of 5/16 off 7.5 overs. A rain delay in Brisbane is seemingly delaying the inevitable.

Starting the day with three second innings wickets, Tait wasted little time adding to his collection of scalps, removing Clinton Perren for 4 with his fifth ball of the day. The ferocious pace and movement Tait was generating then became too much for James Hopes, who went for 6.

Shane Watson (15) remains the top scorer for the Bulls and the only batsmen not to be dismissed by Tait, with Ryan Harris claiming the opener.

Tait, who has eight wickets for the match, is sure to generate more talk of Australia playing an all-pace attack for the Boxing Day test, especially with Stuart MacGill’s prospects still uncertain.
