St.Kilda has survived the heat, the Adelaide crowd and early wobbles against the Crows to win the NAB Cup.

The Saints won by five points in a match that commenced under a baking sun, with the temperatures in the mid-30s.

Both teams booted nine goals, but it was supergoals from Jason Gram and Xavier Clarke which proved the difference. Neither side could get an early handle on the conditions, with the Saints leading 26-21 at the major break. St.Kilda’s first goal didn’t arrive until the second term.

Adelaide regained the lead early in the final quarter, however the Saints were composed and held out their more fancied opponent.

Gram won the Michael Tuck medal, thanks to 33 possessions in the midfield.
