Spida Everitt goes under knife

Sydney Swans ruckman Peter Everitt has gone under the knife to repair knee damage, however it won’t keep the veteran out of action when the 2008 AFL season commences.

“Spida was feeling some pain in the knee and the arthroscope determined a piece of cartilage behind the kneecap needed to be removed, the operation went well and he was up walking around straight away,” Swans General Manager Football Andrew Ireland said.

“Given the early timing of the operation we don’t anticipate any issues with Spida being back training and ready for the commencement of the 2008 season.”
