Souths release Peter Cusack

South Sydney has rewarded co-captain Peter Cusack for his loyalty, by honouring his request to be released from the final year of his contract in order to to join Super League club Hull.

Cusack signed a lucrative two-year deal with the British club, which will almost certainly be his last before retiring. Souths were said to be open to the idea of letting the front-rower go on the basis that he stuck with the club during lean periods.

”We spoke to Peter about six weeks ago regarding his and our plans for the future and we didn’t want him to miss a window of opportunity of going to the UK to finish his career if he so desired,” said Souths CEO Shane Richardson.
