Six league clubs breach salary cap, Souths cop biggest fine

The NRL has handed out its annual bill for salary cap breaches, with Souths heading up a group of six clubs.

The Rabbitohs were fined $70,625 by the governing body, with Wests Tigers ($46,000) and Canberra ($45,813) next on the list. The Bulldogs, Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos were also fined for breaching the cap.

The fines total $237,155, just over half the sum of the fines handed out last season.
