A confident Serena Williams has delivered an ominous warning to her rivals at the Australian Open:She might be looking fit and fast, but she can go even faster.

Serena faced her toughest opponent to date at Melbourne Park, 26th seed Victoria Azarenka, however the defending champion handled the match with such ease, the match was best described by the victor herself.

“Um, routine?”Serena booked a round of 16 clash with 12th seed Nicole Vaidisova, with the Williams serve today’s main feature. Serena cracked 15 aces in just two sets.

“I definitely served well today,” Serena said. “It was much better than what I did my other two rounds, so it’s looking good.“I like it.”

Serena’s renewed fitness has been a major taking point ever since she arrived at the Hopman Cup. The benefits extend beyond vanity, with the younger Williams covering the court with noticeable snap.“I’m moving well. I’m not even moving my fastest. You know, I can move faster when I want to.”
