Scrappy Storm will lift Manly
Manly certainly won’t be fearful of anything they would have seen out of Telstra Dome this afternoon.
Their confidence would have skyrocketed.
The signs were not good for Melbourne in the first twenty minutes. In fact, I thought they were on their way out. The Storm proved today that they are professional side. They’ve been doing it all year, winning big games ugly.
Some will see that as a negative, however it is a sign of a very good team.
The Storm underbelly was a bit soft. Not surprising really, given Melbourne has had no opposition in the last three games, racking up 128 points to 12.
The two moments that decided this game were the two disallowed Krisnan Inu tries. While both decisions were probably right, it amazes me how much we go looking, go raking, go scarifying, go microscoping for some reason to not give a try on something which is so artistic.
It’s correct, but such a shame.
I would seriously consider changing the rules, keeping the lines in play, ala tennis.
The other facet to come out of this match was the referee. Tony Archer only had to be competent today to guarantee himself the grand final, and he certainly obliged.

Art has nothing to do with it. His foot touched the line, so no try. If you start bringing subjectivity into the decisions the whole process would be ridiculous. Have you been spending too much time with gus?
Go Manly!!
