Saturday Night is alright for A-League decider

The 2008/09 A-League Grand Final will be moved from Sunday afternoon to Saturday night, in a move that appears to be designed with the fans in mind.

The first three season deciders have been deemed success stories, however the FFA has opted for the Saturday climax on February 28, in order to allow fans to have access to their team on Sunday.

The FFA has announced it will stage two matches on Boxing Day and New Years Eve, including a blockbuster between Adelaide United and Sydney FC at Adelaide Oval.

Last seasons grand-finalists, Central Coast Mariners and Newcastle Jets, will open the season on Friday August 15 at EnergyAustralia Stadium, while Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory will face off at Sydney Football Stadium the following day.
