St.Kilda’s second stringers easily accounted for a Richmond side close to its best in the NAB Cup, with the Saints 40 point opening round win certain to have alarm bells ringing at Punt Road.

Fraser Gehrig returned from his brief retirement to snag three goals, as did Stephen Milne. The Saints were missing a host of stars, including Nick Riewoldt, Luke Ball and Brendon Goddard, however St.Kilda never trailed in the match. The Saints will take on Geelong or Melbourne in the quarter finals.

New ruckmen Steven King and Michael Gardiner showed encouraging signs on their St.Kilda debuts.
