Rosehill races called off

In another brutal blow to the racing industry in New South Wales, today’s scheduled 12 race meeting at Rosehill Gardens has been abandoned, with the discovery of equine influenza in two horses at Warwick Farm.

The Rosehill meeting was to be the first in New South Wales to allow spectators since the EI outbreak began.

What makes this discovery all the more dire is the fact that ‘phantom’ meetings at Warwick Farm are no longer possible until the disease clears the area.

“They all soon be infected at Warwick Farm. That will take at least thirty days (to clear). It will be a long time for Warwick Farm,” Sydney Turf Club CEO Michael Kenny told Fox Sports News.
