Roar in Kruse control

A Robbie Kruse goal on 11 minutes was enough for the Queensland Roar to take all three points against Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium.
The victory further cements Roar in the A-League top two, however the margin could have been significantly greater that the 1-nil result, with several attacking raids find no result.
The winner was set up by Matthew McKay, who found Kruse with a lovely through ball, with the shot coming from the top of the box, cleverly beating Michael Theoklitos.
Victory has its moments in the second half, however their lack of potency was once again a problem. Danny Allsopp missed a golden opportunity in front of an open goal after a superb cross from Archie Thompson, while a Carlos Hernandez free kick beat the wall but found the left post. Melbourne has scored just 11 goals in 13 games, with tonight’s loss keeping the Victory at least two points outside the top four.
Roar captain Craig Moore was taken off in the first half with an ankle injury. It occured when he was caught up in a challenge with Thompson.
Roar have now gone unbeaten for seven consecutive matches.
