Reds return to woeful ways

The start of the season may have been encouraging, but the Queensland Reds are firmly back in their familiar position, languishing at the bottom end of the Super 14 ladder.

A week after being annihilated by the ‘Baby’ Brumbies, the Reds were no match for South Africa’s previously winless Stormers. The visitors winning 34-16 at Suncorp Stadium.

The Stormers, who had been woeful in attack with just two tries for the season before tonight, found in Queensland their perfect remedy. The Reds patented turnstile defence allowed four tries, three of them in the final 22 minutes. Before the run started, the Reds led 16-13.
