Rafa knee fine

Rafael Nadal showed no signs of the knee injury that has hampered him during his first two rounds of the US Open, thrashing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the man who ended Tim Henman’s slam career, in straight sets.

Nadal was taken to a tie break in the first, however once he won that 7-3, the Spaniard ran rampant, winning the next two sets 6-2, 6-1.

“I feel so much much better today so that’s good for me. It was important for me to win in straight sets. For my knees it’s better because I can be a little bit more relaxed for the next match.”

Next for the second seed will be countryman David Ferrer, after the 15th seed came from two sets to one down to beat Argentine David Nalbandian.
