Pratt finally gives women a win

Nicole Pratt has broken the drought for Australian women at the US Open, recovering from a set and a break down to beat American Jamea Jackson, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0.

Pratt lost the first set 3-6 against the world number 252, and looked doomed as 2-4 in the second. A combination of pressure and lack of fitness were telling against Jackson, who wilted badly and failed to win another game.

The demise was sad to watch, however Australia will take any win it can. Pratt raised both arms in celebration at the end of the 2:04 contest.

Next up for Pratt is 6 seed Anna Chakvetadze.
