Port will Power over West Coast

The general consensus would be that West Coast, with Judd back in the side, will have too much class and experience, but do not underestimate this Port Power team.

This might be a qualifying final, but the road for the loser is a nightmare. A second week at home against Collingwood or Sydney, then an MCG game with perhaps Geelong is a very tough path.

That makes this contest vitally important.

Power coach Mark Williams has done a wonderful job with these guys. A brilliant midfield, headed by the Cornes and the Burgoyne boys, is more than capable of handling stars of West Coast.

Warren Tredrea could be an X-factor. I don’t think he’s near the player he used to be, but playing regularly has given him a little bit of confidence and touch.

However it’s his leadership that could be the key.

He’s far more animated these days and starting to be quite directive and assertive. I like how Tredrea is exerting his physicality.

I don’t think Port be overawed by the experience. I’m tipping the Power by 23 points.
