Olyroos 0-1 down v North Korea

The Australian Olympic football side is in danger is bouncing out of the Beijing games, after conceding an early goal against North Korea in Pyongyang.

In their final game of qualifying, North Korea leads 1-0 after 40 minutes, with the visitors rocked by a Park Chol Min goal on 10 minutes.

The Olyroos appeared to have their tickets to the Games booked when they defeated main rivals Iraq 2-0 on Saturday Night in Gosford, however defeat here and an Iraqi win over Lebanon at the same time would see Australia miss the Olympics for the first time since 1984.

Australia’s best chance came on 35 minutes, when James Troisi fired a cracking left shot, however the North Korean keeper batted it away safely.

The Olyroos have struggled to cope with the synthetic pitch, while temperatures are dropping rapidly as the sun sets.

North Korea has collected just four point in qualifying to date.
