Hawthorn has been handed a lesson as the Adelaide Crows returned to the top eight with a resounding 71 point win at AAMI Stadium.

The young Hawks were simply no match for the home side, who thrived in typical windy conditions.

The tone of the match was set early when Crows faced a stiff first quarter breeze, yet scored four goals to one.

Stars were easy to find, with Mark Ricciuto thriving at full forward, netting four goals, while Tyson Edwards and Andrew McLeod were back to their scintillating best, providing 41 and 39 possessions respectively. Simon Goodwin’s contribution of 33 touches was also significant as he returned from injury.
