A five under 66 has Geoff Ogilvy in a handy position at the halfway point of The Barclays, four shots behind Korea’s KJ Choi.

Choi, who fired a 66 following yesterdays 64, leads Rich Beem by two in the PGA Tour’s first of four ‘playoff’ events. Beem needs to finish in the top 12 to advance to next weeks event. Steve Sticker, Ogilvy and day one leader Rory Sabbatini are four shots back at -8. The 2006 US Open champion made six birdies in the first fourteen holes, before giving a shot back on the last.

Adam Scott shot a 69 to be in a tie for sixth at -6, alongside Ernie Els and Retief Goosen.

Nick O’Hern is one shot further back, Aaron Baddeley is four under. Andrew Buckle, Rod Pampling and Nathan Green also made the cut, however Steve Elkington, Steve Allan, Matthew Goggin, John Senden, Robert Allenby and Stuart Appleby all missed the cut.
