Molik belted

The abysmal run of Australians in the women’s singles at the US Open has worsened, with Alicia Molik making a swift exit.

Molik was no match for 23 seed Katarina Srebotnik, losing 6-2, 6-2 in an hour. The Slovenian was unstoppable, winning 85% of points on her first serve.

No Australian women have advanced to the second round, with Nicole Pratt and Casey Dellacqua still to play.
