Milligan banned from pre-games tournament

Rouge Olyroos captain Mark Milligan had been made unavailable for an upcoming lead-up event to the Beijing games, however his place in the Olympic team seems assured despite his decision to skip a training camp.

Milligan was in the United Kingdom attempting to pen a deal with English giants Arsenal, when he was supposed to be in Queensland with the rest of the Olyroos squad. The FFA has announced Milligan won’t be used in a tournament in Malaysia starting next Tuesday, however the governing body has not made any decision as to whether the Sydney FC defender will regain the captaincy in Beijing, or whether Milligan will even go to the Olympics.
