Mercurial McLeod inspires Crows

Andrew McLeod should be too experienced and jaded to be turning on match-winning bursts in pre-season football. However the two-time Norm Smith medallist was the key difference in Adelaide’s 17 point NAB Cup quarter final win over Fremantle at AAMI Stadium.
McLeod slammed home three goals in the final quarter in his new role in the forward line. His 17 touches were sublime, with the Dockers kicking a cluster of cheap goals near the finish to make the score look less gruesome.
The Dockers opened an early 23 point lead, before the Crows picked up their intensity. McLeod not only bagged his treble, but set up goals for Ken McGregor and Tyson Edwards in the third term.
