Lee and Clark winch Australia back

Australia has rocketed back into contention at the WACA, with a superb opening session on day three of the third test netting four crucial wickets.

India is 5/158 at lunch, a lead of 276. Nightwatchman Irfan Pathan has defied the onslaught, moving swiftly to 45 off 59 balls, while VVS Laxman has 18.

Starting the day 1/52, the tourists lost Virender Sehwag when he was bowled by Stuart Clark for 43. Rahul Dravid soon followed, contentiously given out caught behind off Brett Lee for 3. Replays showed Dravid had struck his pad with his bat, with any contact with the ball debatable.

The major blow came when Lee trapped Tendulkar for 13. Lee bowled wide of the crease, tempting Tendulkar to play across the line to a ball on middle stump. The ball kept low than has been the case.

Sourav Ganguly chased a full Mitchell Johnson delivery, getting a healty edge to Michael Clarke in the slips.

Clark and Lee have two wickets each, with attack clearly enjoying the overcast Perth conditions.
