Kimmorley in with Blues axe spared

Sharks halfback Brett Kimmorley will return to the State Of Origin arena after a two year abscene, replacing the injured Jarrod Mullen. Greg Bird and Ryan Hoffman are the other new additions.

Mullen has not been ruled out because of an ongoing calf injury, however selectors opted against risking the 20 year old. “In a crucial position, I didn’t like to go in with an injured guy and be undecided for two or three days” said coach Graham Murray.

Bird replaces the injured Kurt Gidley, while Storm forward Hoffman also makes his debut, with Anthony Topou the only casualty from game 1 who was not injured.
