Judd: Not fussed if I get booed

Carlton captain Chris Judd says he won’t be bothered if he’s showered with boos when he takes the field against West Coast tonight at Subiaco.

Judd left the Eagles last year and revealed on Channel Nine’s The Footy Show that his decision to move back to Melbourne was virtually made before his final year at West Coast began.

“Even before the (2007) season got under way, I had a fair idea it was going to be my last with the footy club,” Judd said.

“There is no part of the West Coast footy club that I wasn’t happy with or trying to get away from.”

The blockbuster sold out in a staggering 27 minutes, with the reaction of the crowd to provide one of the many storylines of Judd’s return home.

“It’ll be interesting playing against blokes who you’ve worked and trained so closely with. As for the crowd, I’m sure some people boo and some will applaud. I’m not fussed either way. I won’t be upset if they boo me.”

Judd opened up on a range of issues, including his relationship with the troubled Ben Cousins.

“Everyone was concerned about the road he’s gone down.

“We didn’t understand the extent of the problems he was facing. I spoke to him individually, but essentially by that stage it was too far down the track,” Judd told The Footy Show.
