Hurt Tendulkar out as India tail wags

A knee injury has led to the dismissal of Sachin Tendulkar for 153, however Australia has struggled to run through the Indian tail on day two of the fourth test in Adelaide.India is 7/402 nearing lunch, with captain Anil Kumble on 23 and Harbhajan Singh 27.

The tourists started the day with a bang when Tendulkar hit Brett Lee for a boundary of the first ball. The run rate flowed nicely, until MS Dhoni holed out to Andrew Symonds at deep point off Mitchell Johnson for 16.

Tendulkar eased to 150 – his third on Australian soil – before attempting a pull shot off Lee, inside edging the ball into the inside of his knee, requiring several minutes of treatment. One ball later, Lee gave Tendulkar another short ball, with the little master holing out to Brad Hogg at deep square. Tendulkar hobbled off to a standing ovation, his pain obvious.

India was in a reasonable position at 7/359. However, Kumble and Harbhajan have comfortably added 43 for the eighth wicket, increasing the frustrations for the Australians. Of note has been Hogg, who has yet to look incisive. His figures of 1/85 off 21 overs will be concerning for selectors.

Lee and Johnson have three wickets each.
