Henin collects Williams double

Justine Henin

> Kuznetsova wins horror semi

Venus promised to win ‘for her little sister’.

At the end the women’s semi finals at the US Open, Venus and Serena has something in common.

They were both knocked out by Justine Henin in straight sets.

The world number one clinically beat Venus 7-6, 6-4 a tight match, separated when Henin took the big moments.

The Belgian will play Svetlana Kutzetsova in tomorrow the final.

“I got a bit nervous, but finally I did it. I’m happy to get this one,” Henin said.

“We both played really great tennis, especially at the end of the first set.”

Henin could’ve taken the first set without going to a tie break, but lost her break when serving at 5-4. The breaker was all one way traffic, as the world number one won the last five points to take control of the match.

As with the first set, Henin was broken when serving for the match, however this time the Belgian broke back immediately to win 6-4.

Before today, Martina Hingis at the 2001 Australian Open was the only player to beat both Williams’ in a slam.
