Hagan promises tough love for wayward Eels
The usually laid back Michael Hagan couldn’t hide his anger after yet another unsavioury Parramatta off-field incident.
The Eels have a nasty recent history of poor behaviour, capped off with shots fired at Jarryd Hayne, Weller Hauraki and Junior Paulo on Monday morning in Kings Cross. The trio returned to training today and kept a low profile. Hagan did not, venting his spleen when talking to the media.
“I think some of the behaviour has been unprofessional, and put the team under pressure at a time when we don’t need it, Hagan said.
“I’m getting tired of it. Fans are sick of hearing about and reading about it. I think it’s time players took some responsibility for what they do.
Hayne is becoming a serial offender, a tag which can already be attributed to teammates Tim Smith and Mark Riddell. Hagan admits the he and the club may have been too lenient in the past, with the Parramatta coach promising a tougher approach.
“We’re not taking the hint too well, Hagan said. “We’ve had plenty of education and plenty of examples of this type of behaviour.
