Gilchrist hits ton off 42 balls

Adam Gilchrist has collected his first Indian Premier League century, clubbing a superb 109 not out off 48 balls to help the Deccan Chargers to a 10 wicket hiding of Mumbai Indians, its first victory of the tournament.

Chasing 155, Gilchrist went berserk, smashing 10 sixes as his partner VVS Laxman (36 not out) was completely overshadowed. The target was achieved with 7.2 overs remaining.

Winless Mumbai were weakened with Sachin Tendulkar (injured) and Harbhajan Singh (supspended) unavailable.
