Gasquet takes first set off Djokovic

Novak Djokovic is in danger of being shunted out of the Masters Cup in Shanghai, with the world number 3 dropping the first set against Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

In a virtual elimination match after both players lost their opening round robin encounters, Gasquet broke serve early, however Djokivic evened the ledger, before Gasquet broke again in the eighth game to eventually take the set 6-4.

Djokovic lost to David Ferrer in straight sets in his opening encounter, while Gasquet manfully went down to world number two Rafael Nadal in three sets.
