Eagles slide hits new low

West Coast may still be in the AFL top four, but nothing from today’s shellacking at the hands of Port Adelaide would suggest they are in any frame to win a final, even considering their injury hit list.
Missing nine senior players, the Eagles opened the goal scoring through Mark Seaby, but by the time Quentin Lynch slotted West Coast’s second goal, the Power has slammed six of their own and the contest was just about over.
The Power were awesome across the park, pressuring the Eagles into poor decisions. IT was a performance that easilt satisfied the difficult to please Power coach Mark Williams
“We trained hard this week. There was a lot of one of one stuff and it really came through”.
“The twenty-two had to deliver today”.
Of concern for West Coast will be Chris Judd, who struggled to deal with a groin problem. Judd was stationed at full forward for much for the third term before finishing the game on the bench.
“If you be fair, West Coast had half their players out”, said Williams.
There were stars galore for Power, with Chad Cornes, Daniel Motlop and Justin Westhoff kicking four goals each. Westhoff has booted 17 goals in his first six games of senior football. Williams is delighted at his rise.
“As soon as I saw him, I thought he was good enough to play”.
