Two very different matches in tonights A-League, with the same result.

Sydney FC and Adelaide United started at a helter skelter pace, which continued throughout.

United opened the scoring in the h minute when Natahn burns went through three defenders, before passing to - who slotted though goal. This was cancelled out quickly when Robbie Middelby earned a penalty. Ufuk Talay cannoned the spot kick straight into the keeper, but guided the rebound into the open goal.

After several chances for each team,

FC took the lead in the 74 th minute when Alex Brosquie was set up by a perfect through ball from Juninho.

Within ninety seconds, Burns eased a header in for the equalizer. That lack of concentration costly for FC, who are winless in two matches at home this season.

The match saw new Brazilian import Patrick make his debut in FC colours. He has a quiet start, botching a clear opportunity.in the 60th minute

In front of over 35,000 at Telstra Dome, the Melbourne Victory and Perth Glory played out a nil-all draw.

Through the pre season and two games in the A-League season, Victory are still yet to score a win since taking last seasons grand final.

Archie Thompson almost created a wonder goal, when he lobbed the ball up for himself twice on the edge of the box, before firing too high. The Socceroos striker missed an opportunity in the second half

Perth enjoyed a better second half but the deadlock remained.

“We’re picking up points, which is what we said we’ve got to do,” said Victory coach Ernie Merrick

Victory captain Kevin Muscat was confident the drought for the premiers would end shortly.

“No panic stations. We’ll keep persisting and sooner a later, a team will be on the receiving end of a few goals”

Glory has now played two matches, with their for and against still stuck on zero.

“We came here not to lose, which I think kills it for the spectators, (but) a lot of people would have gone away and said that was an exciting game.”
