Demetriou’s pay packet is off the mark. It’s too low

Andrew Demetriou should not have to justify his pay packet. It may be popular to point out that he earns more than any player, but what single player has done more and is doing more for AFL than it’s boss? The players may provide the product, but product is useless unless it converts to cash.
This is where Demetriou has shone.
The $100 million dollar a year television deal he walked into was astronomical, yet somehow he managed to procure $156 million per season for this current arrangement. He may have had help from big Kerry, but facts are facts, and Demetriou has starred. Demetriou has also maintained his sport well ahead of the pack, including the ever improving rugby league and the fast moving soccer.
Think of it this way: at $156 million a season, that places the value of each match at almost a million bucks. Every game. Do you think the boss of the code is not worth the price of one game?
Come to think of it, The AFL are getting out of it cheap.
