Cowboys will do it again
The Cowboys beat the Bulldogs last week and I think that they will repeat the dose on Saturday night.
Sonny Bill is the Dogs major strike weapon and a major loss. I’m also rather certain Johnathan Thurston won’t be taken off with a quarter of the match to go like he was last Friday. Those two factors are enough to suggest to me that North Queensland will win this game and leave the Dogs in limbo.
I don’t know why the Bulldogs haven’t clicked this year. I really don’t. Their forwards are superb. Brent Sherwin to me is very capable. I like Ben Roberts. It just doesn’t seem to happen at times and that must concern Steve Folkes.
As for the Sonny Bill suspension, I’m comfortable with one week. He deserved time because his shot on Thurston was unnecessarily high. However, it was clumsy and nothing more.
If Sonny Bill had any intention of hurting Thurston, then the Cowboys half would’ve had a broken jaw.
The big question is whether his teammates will give him another chance in 2007. Even if they lose, they’ll probably play again, but nothing would surprise me.
