Cowboys hit lead against Redskins, 3rd qtr

The Dallas Cowboys have hit the lead for the first time today, leading Washington Redskins 14-10 with 1:05 remaining in the third quarter at Texas Stadium.

The Skins (5-4) opened the scoring, via a 19 yard TD pass from Jason Campbell to Chris Cooley midway through the opening period. The Cowboys (8-1) hit back just before the half, with Terrell Owens receiving a 4 yard TD pass from Tony Romo.

The Redskins quickly marched down the field to land a Shaun Suisham field goal with 0:04 remaining in the second quarter.

The offence of the Cowboys has been well handled, with Dallas making just 197 yards, compared to the Redskins 230.

Tony Romo (18 for 26) has been picked off one, however a crucial intercept to Rocky McIntosh was overruled.

It would be the most important play of the game to date.

A first and goal for the Redskins turned into a Dallas possession. On the next play The Redskins gave a way a 51 yard penalty on a pass interference.

On 3rd and 19, Romo fired a long pass down the middle, perfectly placed to TO to snare his second TD.

Green Bay (9-1) won earlier in the day against Carolina to cement its position at the top of the conference.
