Cousins: Never felt better

Ben Cousins has spoken, albeit briefly, about the dropping of the final charge laid against him by WA police.

“I’m just looking forward to moving forward. We’ve got the case on Monday…” Cousins told National Nine News while walking through the streets of Manly, in Sydney’s north.

That case Cousins is referring to is with the AFL, which charged the former Eagles midfielder with bringing the game into disrepute. Cousins believes his clearance by WA police will help his cause with the league.

“I don’t think it can hurt, so we’ll….that’s all I’ve got to say.”

Cousins also reiterated his desire to return to the AFL.

“Absolutely, mate. With a bit of luck, so… aah, we’ll see how we go.”

“Oh, mate, I’d rather not go into it any further. There’s a lot of water to come under the bridge before I’m allowed to play. We’ll just get that out of the way.

Asked about his health, a pertinent question given his recent five day bender in Los Angeles, Cousins was typically upbeat and abrupt.

“Never felt better mate, cheers,” Cousins told Nine, before walking away from reporter Damian Ryan.
