Collingwood back from the dead

Collingwood has stormed home with the final ten scoring shots, including four goals, to pip St.Kilda in a see sawing clash at the MCG, making the Saints task of making the finals closer to being unattainable.
The Saints had enjoyed a hot run themselves, scoring 37 consecutive points in the wet conditions, turning a 43-59 deficit early in the third term into an 80-59 lead one minute into the final quarter, however they failed to score again with the Pies (9 and 5) taking another step towards clinching a finals berth. St.Kilda are now 6 and 8 and with twelve wins expected to be a minimum for entry into the finals, the Saints can only afford two more defeats for the home and away season.
Dale Thomas, Travis Cloke and Josh Fraser bagged a double each for the Pies, while Fraser Gehrig landed four for the Saints.
A wonder goal from Thomas in the final term was denied by the umpires, who deemed that Thomas has stepped out of bounds during a movement that involved the Pies half-forward sidestepping two defenders before squeezing a kick through the goals from the boundary line. TV replays failed to vindicate the decision.
