Campbell Brown cops two matches

Hawthorn will need to reach the NAB Cup final if defender Campbell Brown is to be available for round 1 of the season proper, with Brown accepting a two match ban for charging top draft pick Matthew Kreuzer in the latter stages of Hawthorn’s easy win over Carlton on Saturday.

The first match will be served this week when Hawthorn plays Adelaide at AAMI Stadium in the pre-seaosn semi finals. If the Hawks are eliminated from the NAB Cup, Brown will miss the opening round clash against Melbourne.

Had Brown fought the charge, he would have risked a three match suspension.
