Brad Hogg to retire

brad-hogg-2Brad Hogg to retire

The international cricket career of Brad Hogg is set to end, with the WA leg spinner to announce his retirement this afternoon.

It is understood Hogg play until the end of the current Commonwealth Bank one day series.

Hogg had an unhappy test series against India, taking eight wickets at an average of more than 60. His sudden decision will place more focus on Stuart MacGill, who is slowly returning to fitness after surgery to correct carpal tunnel syndrome. Outside of the NSW veteran, Australia’s spinning stocks are at a long-time low.

Hogg has played seven tests and 121 one-day internationals, taking 154 wickets in the limited over form of the game.
