Becks back but LA pounded

Beckham on the first night of a bad 48 hours

No doubt David Beckham will be off to the comfort of his bed very shortly, having played two games in two days in two different continents. When he does go to sleep, he will surely hope to dream about anything other than what’s transpired in the last 48 hours.

A day after playing in England’s 2-1 home defeat to Germany, Beckham’s LA Galaxy suffered its ninth loss of the Major League season, going down at home to Chivas USA 3-0.

Beckham played all ninety minutes in a Herculean performance, however his influence was limited. Except when he was the victim of a late challenge, with a stray boot near the groin region, triggering a brawl with saw a player from each team red carded shortly before half time.

Galazy has now won just three of its seventeen matches in the major league.
