Bailey the man for Melbourne

Melbourne Demons

> Disappointed Sheedy has ‘four or five options’

Port Adelaide assistant coach Dean Bailey will be the head coach of the Melbourne Demons for the next three years.

Bailey beat four other candidates, including Kevin Sheedy, who now looks certain to be without a team in 2008 and may have one game left in his coaching career.

Bailey played 53 games for Essendon in the 80s and early 90s and has been an assistant at Port for 6 years. He was also a development officer during the Bombers premiership year in 2000.

The decision was made after a three hour board meeting last night.
