Australia well placed

Another dominating display by Andrew Symonds has placed Australia in a strong position in the third one dayer against India at Hyderabad.

Australia finished their 50 overs on 7/290, with Symonds making 89 off 67 balls, three days after scorching a match winning innings of 87.

Matt Hayden also racked up another half century, scoring 60. Michael Clarke added 59 in a partnership with Symonds worth 123 off just 100 balls.

Shanth Sreesanth was plundered around the ground, however the tearaway recovered by taking the wickets of Symonds and James Hopes with the last two balls of the innings, finishing with 2 for 58 off 9.

The task for India is a formidable one, however this is the first innings in the series in which Australia has failed to score 300.
