Australia back to best

Brett Lee: First hat trick in Twenty20

The shock defeat to Zimbabwe is now a distant memory, after Australia’s latest win at the Twenty20 World Championship, this time a nine wicket spanking of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh batted first and never looked comfortable, struggling to lift their rate throughout. Brett Lee then destroyed the middle order with a hat-trick in the seventeenth over, dismissing Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza and Alok Kapali. Kapali was trapped LBW.

Bangladesh finished at 9/123.

Australia never looked troubled in their chase, Adam Gilchrist was dropped early and made 43(26). His run out was the only joy for the minnows, with Matt Hayden following his 67 not out against England with an unbeaten 73 off 48 balls.
