AFL twilight prelim

AFL

The AFL has made the unusual move of scheduling Port Adelaide’s home preliminary final for a start time of 4pm on Saturday 22 September.

The reason given for the twilight game at AAMI stadium is to ensure that whoever wins, be it the Power, or more importantly the Kangaroos or Hawthorn, can be home by Saturday Night, guaranteeing a full week’s recovery before the grand final.

Geelong will play either West Coast or Collingwood on the Friday night, with the MCG starting time 7.50pm.
